The History of Horror Films

Imagine sitting in a dark theater in Paris in 1896, watching a filmmaker make a skeleton pop out of thin air, and having no idea how he did it. That was the work of Georges Melies, a French magician who traded his stage tricks for a camera and became one of the first people to put spooky illusions on film.
