This worksheet leaves all three numbers blank, so nothing can be worked out arithmetically and every number has to come off the drawing - the dot gives the start, the hops give the change, the landing gives the result. The equation is always written as an addition, because a run of hops to the left is adding a negative, and allowing a subtraction would let a student avoid the signed number entirely.
