Each worksheet has 8 problems counting the unit cubes needed to build a solid figure.
This worksheet asks students to work out how many unit cubes are needed to build a solid rectangular figure. Because the figures are solid, most of the cubes are hidden inside and cannot be counted one at a time - students have to count a single layer and multiply by the number of layers, which is exactly the systematic counting the standard asks for.
