Finding Areas in a Composite Figure Worksheet Download
The reference is a test item that asks three things about one figure with dropdowns; here each problem draws its own figure and asks a SINGLE question, with the measurements changing from problem to problem. The three question types - each shaded triangle, each unshaded triangle, the total - are dealt out evenly, and each needs a DIFFERENT pair of measurements off the same drawing. That is the whole point of a composite-area question: knowing which two numbers belong to the piece being asked about. The wrong answers pair the numbers up incorrectly - the half left off, the other triangle's measurements, the rectangle counted alone, or only one triangle of each pair counted.
