This worksheet asks children to pick the right measuring tool for an object - a centimeter ruler, a meter stick or a measuring tape. Choosing the instrument is a separate skill from reading a scale, and it is the part of measurement children most often skip: a ruler is useless against a school bus and a tape measure is awkward against a paper clip. Objects are drawn from three clearly separated size bands so that each question has one defensible answer. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
