About this worksheet

Each worksheet has 6 word problems adding fractions with a tape diagram divided into the common denominator.

This worksheet adds two fractions using a tape diagram, in the style of the existing tape diagram sheets. One whole is cut into the common denominator and each part of the story takes its own run of cells, so a tape in twelfths holds one fourth as three cells and one third as four and the student counts seven. The renaming happens in the picture. There is always a third run of cells for the rest of the whole, since two parts that filled the tape would answer the question by themselves. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
