This worksheet adds and subtracts 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001, written as equations. It is the written companion to the mental math sheets on the same skill, which all ask in words - a student meets this skill written as an equation everywhere else. The amount added is printed short, 0.1 rather than 0.100, because the mistake the sheet is about is lining a tenth up against the last digit instead of the tenths digit, and a student who never sees a ragged pair of decimals never has to think about it. Half the problems carry or borrow across a place value and half do not, so noticing which is which is part of the work. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
