Subtracting Coin Amounts (Word) Worksheet Download
This worksheet gives each amount as a number of named coins - "3 nickels" or "1 quarter" - rather than as a price, so the student has to know what each coin is worth before subtracting. Two kinds of problem are mixed together: one where a person has an amount and spends part of it, and one comparing what two people spent to find how much more. Every total stays under a dollar and all four coins appear, so pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters get practised together. This is the subtraction companion to the adding version.
