Matching Area Models to Fraction Products Worksheet Download

The rectangle is cut into one denominator's worth of columns and the other's worth of rows, one numerator of columns is shaded and one numerator of rows, and the part shaded twice is the product. Three tones keep all three regions readable. The wrong models are each a real model of SOMETHING - the two numerators swapped between the axes, the grid turned so the denominators sit on the wrong sides, one numerator off by one - rather than an arbitrary amount of shading. Both fractions are in lowest terms, because 2/4 reads as an unfinished fraction beside a picture.
