Matching an Array to a Multiplication Expression Worksheet Download

This worksheet gives a multiplication expression and three arrays of objects, and asks which array shows it. Where the other array sheets start from the picture and ask for the equation, this one starts from the symbols. The two wrong arrays are real mistakes rather than random pictures, and are drawn from different kinds of mistake wherever possible: one may hold the same total split into different factors, so counting the objects does not settle it and the factors have to be read; another may use one factor twice, or be a single row or column out. An array with the rows and columns swapped is never offered, because under commutativity that is a defensible reading of the same expression. All three arrays are drawn at one scale, so the answer cannot be picked from the size of the picture.
