About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 9 shapes where students draw every line of symmetry.
The other worksheets on this skill either hand the line over or ask for a number. Counting can be done by recognising the shape - a student who has learnt that hexagons have six answers without ever looking at where the six run. Drawing them cannot be faked, and it is where the diagonal lines on a square get forgotten. The lines on the answer key are measured from the shape's own points rather than listed by hand, so they cannot disagree with the shape they are drawn on. Shapes with more than six lines are left out: eight dashes through a shape an inch across becomes a starburst nobody can mark. Sheets can be downloaded as a PDF.
