Counting the Unit Cubes in a Figure Worksheet Download
This worksheet shows figures built from unit cubes and asks how many cubes each one took to build. It is the paper form of what the standard asks: shown a picture of a three-dimensional shape, work out what you would need to build it. Every figure is drawn so that no cube is hidden behind its neighbours, because a buried cube cannot be counted from a picture at all, and every figure obeys gravity - the cubes sit in stacks on a connected base, so each one is a structure a child could actually build out of blocks.
