About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 6 problems counting how many of the possible outcomes of two spinners match a given event.
The second half of this standard - deciding which members of the sample space belong to an event - had nothing on it. The worksheets before this one ask whether a pairing exists; none asks which of the pairings that exist share a property, which is the half that leads into probability, because the count of favorable outcomes is exactly the numerator. The answer here is a count rather than a selection on purpose: a count cannot be reached by recognising pairs one at a time, the whole sample space has to be gone through. The values on each spinner are all different, since a repeated section makes the phrase how many outcomes mean two different numbers. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
