About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 10 word problems converting a length using a conversion fact stated in the problem.
The two length conversion worksheets on this site expect the relationship to be known, so a student who has not memorised that a yard is three feet cannot start. Here the fact is stated in the problem, exactly as a released Oklahoma item states it, so what is being tested is purely whether to multiply or divide by it. Those are two different failures and only one of them is about conversion. Every wrong answer is one of the released item's own mistakes - the conversion factor used as though it were the answer, the division done the wrong way round, the two numbers added - rather than a near miss, which would turn the question into arithmetic. Each object is paired only with units that suit its size, so nothing rides a bike eight metres or measures a garden bed in miles. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
