Completing a Comparison Number Sentence Worksheet Download
This worksheet shows a comparison sentence with one side left blank, such as 8,325 is less than the blank, and asks which of four numbers makes it true. The blank sits on the left as often as on the right, and the symbol is greater than as often as less than, so a student who reads the symbol but not the position of the blank gets exactly half of them wrong. All four choices sit inside the same thousands block as the given number, so the comparison has to run down to the hundreds, tens or ones instead of being settled by a leading digit. Where other sheets give two numbers and ask for the symbol between them, this one gives the symbol and asks for the number.
