About this worksheet
Each worksheet has 6 one- and two-step problems answered by reading a frequency table.
This worksheet asks one- and two-step questions about a frequency table - how many recorded a value, how many more chose one than another, how many did not choose it at all. Four of the six question types need two numbers rather than one, which is what the standard means by two-step problems and is the part that existing line plot sheets do not cover. Sheets can be customized, turned into flash cards, or assigned for online learning.
Student objectives
- Read a count out of a frequency table.
- Compare two counts to answer how many more.
- Combine counts to answer a two-step question.
Everyday practice
- Ask how many more of one thing than another there are.
- Total a table and check it against the data.
- Answer a question that needs two numbers, not one.
